John George Brown (1831-1913)
| British born American painter. Between 1880 and 1910 he painted hundreds of portraits of street children, especially shoe-shine boys (boot-blacks). These boys were portrayed alone or in groups, usually as they passed the time between customers as seen below in "Perfectly Happy.". |
